200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum and Experience
Across popular culture, we're often told yoga is just poses and flows.

While asana, the Sanskrit name for poses and flows, is a critical component of yoga — it is actually only one of eight limbs of yoga.
Within the full spectrum of yoga lies a highly sophisticated, science-based, spiritually enlightened wellness system that can advance every aspect of our lives: mental health, physical health, relationships, professional performance, finances, sleep, and overall well-being. This fully online hybrid live and self-led certification, which can be completed at your own pace, from the comfort of your own living area, is a hands-on pathway into the holistic power of yoga, starting with an immersion into the eight limbs.
An 8-Limb Yoga Teacher Training Immersion

Our hybrid live and self-led online 200-hour training is designed to accommodate and support women on their personal journey through the following yoga limbs:
-
Yama and Niyama – In our training, we examine Yamas as ethical, energetic, and behavioural practices. We dive into the art and science of kindness without compromising standards, explore the duality and power of truth, and study the management of energy and personal boundaries. We also explore Niyamas as guiding principles that cultivate self-compassion, cognitive flexibility, intentionality, contentment, and gratitude.
-
Asana – We explore 20 foundational and versatile poses, along with their anatomy and how to connect them into trauma-informed flows and somatic movement.
-
Pranayama – We explore how to use our breath to regulate our autonomic nervous system and support thought and mood management.
-
Pratyahara – We dive into the practice of strategic sensory and energy withdrawal, which can support overstimulation, energy management, and thought clarity.
-
Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi – These three limbs are the foundations of mindfulness; we explore how to apply and teach non-judgemental awareness, acceptance, both active and non-active meditative practices, and value-driven, not outcome-focused ambition — all to support holistic wellbeing through intentional behavioural, mood, and thought management practices.
-
Within our 8-limb immersion, we also explore the transformative spiritual pathways of chakras, the fundamentals of Ayurveda, and the principles of doshas — all designed to cultivate a deep understanding of yoga-focused energy healing.
Exploring Yoga Science, Philosophy, and History

The 8-limb path of yoga is not only a spiritual journey, but a highly scientific system with strong historical roots. Within our training, we:
-
Undergo an intellectual, historical, and philosophical journey into the Bhagavad Gita and the origins of yoga.
-
We develop a deep relationship and understanding of stress science; learning not only the underlying neuroscience, neurobiology, and physiology of it, but how yoga and mind-body skills can be used to regulate our autonomic nervous system and support our relationship with stress.
-
We explore the underlying science of how yoga and mind-body skills use paradoxical intent, habituation science, proprioception, equilibrioception, isotonic and isometric strength, positivity science, self-compassion science, behavioural activation, and other core therapeutic principles that support traditional approaches to improve physical, mental, sleep, professional, and relational health.
-
And much, much more.

Our Trauma-Informed Yoga Teaching Approach
What is Trauma-Informed Yoga?
Trauma-informed yoga is a specialized approach to yoga and mind-body healing that recognizes and responds to the unique needs of people who have experienced trauma from any source — including mental, physical, environmental, relational, cultural, or societal challenges.

Trauma-informed yoga provides mind-body support within a health-informed framework, guided by several core principles:
Creating Emotional and Physical Stability in Yoga Training
Trauma, regardless of its source, often disrupts emotional, physical, and cognitive stability, which is typically intensified by ongoing and ever-evolving internal and external stressors. A foundational principle of trauma-informed yoga and mind-body training is creating an accessible environment where individuals can experience a sense of physical and psychological stability. To support this, we use thoughtfully designed spaces, intentional class and training structure, pose adaptations, and supportive cues and language to foster safety, predictability, and regulation within the learning environment.
Adding Choice and Autonomy in Yoga
Trauma-informed teaching recognizes the importance of choice and personal autonomy, creating a structured yet flexible environment that emphasizes empowerment rather than superficial outcomes. We teach in a way that offers participants intentional options and encourages them to explore using their own intuition. This form of regulated leadership in training creates safety with growth, and curiosity with confidence; empowering participants to fall in love with their own version of the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional journey through mind-body experiences — rather than being told how their experience should or will be.
Mind-Body Connection and Nervous System Regulation
Trauma can, and often does, dysregulate autonomic nervous system functioning. The eight limbs of yoga, through their science-based tools and psycho-philosophical teachings, offer valuable techniques for supporting autonomic nervous system regulation and somatic connection. Trauma-informed teaching goes a step further than standard training to truly understand and explore this mind-body connection, and how to support it.
We teach trauma-informed yoga because it not only preserves the full depth of yoga, but also helps us understand how to better integrate it to be more accommodating to the complex realities of human experience.
“Each offering has been thoughtfully created with student self-determination in mind, which means that while you learn, your innate wisdom will be honoured and respected.”
-Tamika
Benefits of a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Helping Others Through Yoga Teaching
Yoga is rooted in service. Becoming a yoga teacher gives us the tools to create real change in people’s lives. Helping others also helps us, and being of service is one of the most meaningful aspects that professional-level yoga education and skills can unlock.
Building Mental and Physical Health Skills
Yoga is often an incredible addition to our healthcare toolkits. Completing a 200-hour training like ours, given the curriculum design, program intention, and our teaching methodology, ensures that every participant walks away with evidence-based skills that can complement existing healthcare toolkits.
Gaining Community and Connection:
Even the most introverted among us yearn for genuine connection — a place to simply be with people who see health, mindsets, and healing the way we do. Programs like ours, which combine the accessibility of online learning with community circles, capture this deeply human desire.
Career and Income Opportunities with a Yoga Certification
One of the best aspects of yoga is its ability to professionally integrate with existing careers, businesses, content creation, side hustles, merchandise, serve as a standalone income, or be used as a professional performance tool. The beauty of learning yoga at this level is that there are truly no limits to its application — only the approach that works best for you, and we’ll help you identify and unlock that.
